Harvard Students vs Fox 'News'

In one corner we have Harvard University, which is widely regarded as one of the best learning institutions in the world according to the ARWU World University Rankings, whose notable alumni include Presidents ranging from 2nd to 44th, these are: John Adams (2nd), John Quincy Adams (6th), Rutherford B. Hayes (19th), Theodore Roosevelt (26th), Franklin D. Roosevelt (32nd), John F. Kennedy (35th),  George W. Bush (43rd) and 44th President Barack Obama while his wife Michelle Obama also attended the University 3 years earlier. To make this fight even more lopsided, Harvard has also produced greats such as Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the Founder of Microsoft Bill Gates and the Founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg.

This list also neglects to mention the countless economists, historians, mathematicians and scientists, which obviously shows that Harvard is responsible for producing a number of the greatest intellectuals of our time.

In the other corner we have a right-wing 'news' show that is awash in sexual assault allegations and false reporting, a station which has been debunked countless times, a video literally exists on YouTube called 'The Top Five Times A Fox Guest Debunked Fox' - just a barrage of ignorant conservative mouthpieces being torn to shreds. This is a so-called news organisation which has paid out $13 million just for Bill O'Reilly's inappropriate sexual conduct alone or Sean Hannity using fake protest footage from Glenn Beck's '9/12 rally' to create the illusion of a larger crowd at a GOP healthcare rally. Oh and yes, I do see the irony in Bill O'Reilly also going to Harvard.

Caleb Bonham of Campus Reform, a conservative group who opposes the supposed liberalism of university campuses decided to canvass Harvard and ask the attending students: Who is a bigger threat to world peace, America or ISIS? The Harvard students - or at least the ones Fox decided to show - overwhelmingly said that America has acted in a way that is a larger threat to world peace than has ISIS. The students gave examples of the United States' protection of oil interests in the Middle East, destabilising the region due to wars and interventions and American Imperialism, effectively trying to be the 'world policeman.'

The statements made by the students are the logical conclusion you should come to when reviewing US involvement in destabilising the region and creating a rise in the terrorism we see today.

Fox News decided to react by first seemingly mocking the intelligence of the students who had answered, they literally chuckled at the one of the students using the word "outlandish" - only because this was the most complex word the Fox News presenters had ever heard of. Caleb Bonham essentially dismissed the students claims only to spew the bullshit that, "there's a fad sweeping the nation of blaming America for all the worlds ills and high brow students are being taught that America is the root of all evil". Their reaction was not to offer any actual counter evidence, just to simply act like the students had no idea what they were talking about and instead gave the floor to one of the greatest - no, THE greatest - intellectual of our time.. Country singer John Rich, who is clearly very well versed in international affairs. Rich decided to show how intellectual he is as rather than provide any evidence or statistics, he claimed, "they're a threat to the gene pool, anybody who says stuff like that", while further claiming while America isn't perfect, that it's nowhere near as bad as ISIS and these kids are "a bunch of snot-nosed brats" whose opinion isn't worth much as they never had a father or grandfather like Rich who told him how to love his country and do the pledge of allegiance every day.

Let's just put this debate to rest, the US is responsible for overthrowing democratically elected governments and installing dictators the world over, countries such as: Iraq, Iran, Guatemala, Chile, Egypt, Brazil, Venezuela, Haiti, Honduras, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Cuba, El Salvador, Sudan, Syria among many others since World War 2. These regime changes were enforced by the US because of the need to further their interests, oil in the case of Iran in 1953 and overturning Marxist leader Salvador Allende in Chile, 1973 and installing far-right dictator Augusto Pinochet, while the CIA had plans to make the Chilean economy "scream" to prevent Allende coming to power under the orders of President Nixon. We could also use the civilian casualty numbers in order to answer this question, minimum 200,000 civilians killed in Iraq and 800,000 - 3,000,000 in Vietnam. Furthermore, World Independent Network/Gallup International published a poll in 2013 asking 66,000 people across 60 nations who they thought was the biggest threat to world peace, the US received 24% of the vote, with Pakistan coming second with just 8%. Meanwhile you could also factor in the fact that the US-backed regimes of Qatar and Saudi Arabia are funding ISIS and provided weapons to further their radical Sunni ideology, but what are facts when you have the 'intelligence' of Fox News.

MSNBC Host Lawrence O'Donnell Explains How The Democratic Party Treats The Left

MSNBC's "The Last Word" host Lawrence O'Donnell describes his politics as a "practical European socialist", which essentially boils down to being a nordic-style social democrat, usually in favour of a mixed economy with a generous welfare state and has defended his positions on MSNBC news shows that typically frown upon stepping outside the neoliberal bubble. O'Donnell is no progressive hero in the context of american politics, sometimes scolding progressive politicians whenever they mildly criticize the Democratic Party, such as when Bernie Sanders tweeted about having to take on the Democratic establishment as well as Republicans, O'Donnell decided to concern troll Sanders by claiming that the Democratic establishment wouldn't pass Sanders' proposals if he wasn't nice to them. Over the course of the last few months an old video of O'Donnell explaining how to move the Democratic Party further left and how the party treats the p

MSNBC News Caught Faking Poll Numbers To Elevate Biden Above Bernie Sanders

If you were to believe recent polling figures in regards to the Democratic Primaries, Joe Biden is by far and away one of the most popular political figures in America, with his 2020 poll numbers giving him a 37 and 32 point lead over Bernie Sanders in the recent past. There has however been issues with some of the polls that have been undertaken and given Joe Biden his huge lead, such as the one pictured above, which shows Bernie leading Biden by 2% (27%-25%) among non-white voters, but you wouldn’t know that if you watched the MSNBC segment regarding the poll, in which Biden magically gains three percentage points in order to go ahead of Bernie in these demographics. Here’s another poll (CNN) that was used in order to show Sanders “plummeting support” and as you can see the poll includes zero respondents of anyone under the age of fifty. The problem being that Sanders base of support is largely made up of younger voters, so to not include any in a poll on Sanders is simply di

Why The Labour Party Lost The UK Election

Whichever way you approach the recent UK election, it would be fair to say that the Labour Party experienced a drubbing, resulting in a loss of 60 seats and handing the Conservative Party a large parliamentary majority. There has however been a fierce debate surrounding the reasons for Labour’s defeat, reasons ranging from Brexit, Jeremy Corbyn himself or supposedly racist voters. This debate has deeply spilt the two main factions of the Labour Party, between moderates and progressives. Blairites vs Corbynistas if you will. Moderates place the blame solely at the feet of Jeremy Corbyn, his supposed anti-semitism and poor electability. Progressives see this defeat as a result of a Brexit backlash with many Leave voters leaving the Labour Party while the Conservative Party had one core message: “Get Brexit Done” which seemingly resonated. It is fair to suggest that Corbyn’s popularity isn’t exactly soaring, with the mere mention of his name bringing about a whole range of different
