Following on from an older article we wrote about the frankly laughable lies conservatives like to spread about Ilhan Omar, they seem to have truly outdone themselves now.  Previously, Omar's detractors created easily falsifiable claims about her, claims that could be disproven from a ten second google search and a cursory read, but nevertheless they persist.  This time around, the very same people believe that the FBI are going to literally arrest Omar. The reasoning behind this is that Omar supposedly married her brother, which has of course been repeated by every right-wing 'news' outlet and even President Trump himself repeated the claim at a campaign rally. Of course something as simple as a birth certificate proves this isn't even remotely true. This didn't stop Chuck Woolery and his idiotic following tweeting out an article claiming that Omar had been 'nabbed by the FBI' and simply lapping it up without even questioning how ridiculous they sound.  FB...

A little while back we wrote about Joe Biden's gradual decline in the polls against current President Donald Trump, ranging back from before the Democratic Primary even took place, during the primary, and now that Biden has become the Democratic nominee. Biden enjoyed leads of eighteen points in a large number of polling matchups leading up to the Democratic Primary, and his polling advantage began to slowly erode as the primary went on, with Trump slightly ahead in some polls. Losses in the Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada contests cut into Biden's lead against Trump, as did his constant gaffes on the debate stage and in interviews, as well as the fact that he is still dealing with sexual assault allegations from Tara Reade, which haven't been concluded or even reported on in months. With all the noise made about Nancy Pelosi being a resistance hero who is supposedly out maneuvering Donald Trump at every turn, it turns out that the Democratic Party leader isn't actually that well liked by Americans. The "Patron Saint of Shade", a nickname given to Pelosi by her most devoted followers, has an extremely loyal following within the Democratic Party, so much so that people like Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos embarrassingly hand delivered a thousand red roses to Nancy Pelosi's office. Sean Hannity, to put it kindly, has never met a war he hasn't liked. Following the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, Hannity, true to form, has suggested that President Trump should attack Iranian oil refineries in order to " cause major poverty for the people of Iran " The Fox News host isn't shy when it comes to using military force against anyone or anything, a firm believer in American Exceptionalism which is prevalent on the American right. During the third Democratic Presidential debate back in September, candidate Beto O'Rourke gave the Republicans a major gift when on the debate stage he exclaimed, "Hell yes we're going to take your AR-15's, your AK-47's". O'Rourke has also proposed a mandatory gun buyback program with the aim of getting rid of assault style weapons. Republicans were then able to use these comments to fabricate a story of the evil tyrannical government coming to take your guns away You could be fair to O'Rourke and say that he hadn't necessarily thought of the constitutional ramifications of such a policy, got caught up in the debate frenzy and wanted to use the issue of gun control to stand out from his opponents. Ilhan Omar’s mere presence as the first Somali-American and one of the first Muslim Congresswomen - along with Rashida Tlaib -  does tend to ruffle a few feathers among the more bigoted politicians and news pundits, much like those who insisted that former President Barack Obama wasn’t American and was actually a Muslim who was born in Kenya. Just as former President Barack Obama had ridiculous and debunked conspiracy theories surrounding him - so does Ilhan Omar. Omar’s journey to Congress was extremely reminiscent of that “American Dream” you hear so much about. Marshae Jones, alleged to have "sparked the altercation" which led to the shooting, has been charged with manslaughter while the shooter has been freed. When women took to the streets in order to protest new draconian abortion laws proposed by several US states, notable conservative pundits insisted that the new laws weren't as bad as many women had feared and that they were just doing their moral duty to protect unborn children, but it’s doubtful Marshae Jones feels the same way. Jones was five months pregnant when she was shot in the stomach during an altercation with another woman and her fetus never survived the shooting. For some reason unbeknownst to me, Twitter likes to continuously remind me that I follow Susan Sarandon, and because of this I unfortunately have to come across tweets like the one pictured above which includes a ridiculous criticism that people like this like to use anytime President Trump does anything terrible - which is pretty often.  If you haven’t heard, women’s reproductive rights are quite literally under attack in several US states, including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Ohio and women are being faced with jail time. HB 481 in Georgia would reportedly allow for women to be given a jail sentence of 10-30 years if she is found to be culpable of miscarrying through her own conduct (although this is extremely vague). A lot can be said about the current President of the United States, Donald Trump and his basic understanding of science and scientific consensus on dividing issues such as climate change and the supposed adverse effects of vaccinations. Most responses involve ridiculing his proposterous statements. Rick Joyner is just another conservative fundamentalist christian among a plethora of like-minded televangelists who have made ridiculous statements about President Trump's time in office. Joyner has a history of simply being wrong, roughly two years ago he claimed to have done some math and has worked out that since earth is '6,000' years old, this coincides with the first six days of the week, which means God is coming back on the seventh day or the sabbath. However, Mr. Joyner may have outdone himself in this particular instance as he claims that abortion and sin are to blame for Hurricane Florence, not climate change. Hurricane Florence was a Category 4 major hurricane with winds reaching 130 miles per hour and lasted two weeks, from the end of August to the middle of September. Should you be unfortunate enough to be following the likes of Dinesh D'Souza or Charlie Kirk (among others) on social media you'll notice a particular pattern in their posts: everything bad is left-wing; everything good is right-wing. At a recent Donald Trump rally in Mesa, Arizona, The Young Turks reporter Emma Vigeland interviewed Trump supporters with questions about the travelling migrant caravan that's heading to the US-Mexico border and the answers are about as bad as you would expect. Following the controversy surrounding President Trump's supreme court pick Brett Kavanaugh over the past few weeks with three women coming forward to claim that the judge sexually assaulted them in the 1980's, it quickly developed into a extremely hyper-partisan issue with those on the left choosing to support the women's claims and those on the right dismissing the allegations as politically motivated. Now in steps a Republican Senate nominee from Mississippi, Chris McDaniel, who when interviewed by Bryan Fischer, a man who has claimed that the Holocaust was caused by homosexuals and that Hillary Clinton is a lesbian, on Fischer's Focal Point  radio show stated that " these allegations 99% of the time are just absolutely fabricated ", where McDaniel got that number from is truly anyone's guess. Whether you believe Donald Trump managed to elevate himself into the Oval Office using Russian hacking efforts - which is actually the making of awful internet memes to 'sway' voters - and evading the eyes of the numerous American intelligence agencies and managed to remain in office for nearly half of his first term or not, why on earth would you vote to give an "illegitimate president" an increased military budget? Polls that were undertaken by polling organisation Gallup have produced some rather worrying signs for both major political parties in America and good news for smaller, lesser known parties. The polls, which were published in January 2018, show that the number of Americans who indentify as Independents has seen its largest ever increase a year out of a presidential election. As you can see pictured above, the number of Independents has been increasing sharply since Gallup's recording began pre-1989, and very rarely dipping below the numbers of Democrats or Republicans. Gallup also mentions how decreases in Independents is usually a result of people choosing to back the candidate with either a (D) or (R) next to their name as they vote for someone that resembles their ideas as closely as possible. Bernie Sanders often deals with objections to his presidential aspirations from all sides of the political spectrum, those on the Right who believe Sanders wants to turn America into some kind of Communist dictatorship, Centrist Democrats who label Bernie as racist, sexist and unable to win a general election, with people from the Left who suggest that he isn't progressive enough. However, one particular critique of Sanders is both extremely exaggerated and in some cases, a flat out lie.
