A recent ninety minute recording of a meeting President Donald Trump had with Lev Parnas - an American businessman who is currently under fire regarding the Trump-Ukraine situation for allegedly surveilling and making threats against the US Ambassador to Ukraine - has been leaked and one of the topics they discussed was the 2016 election and Bernie Sanders. During the conversation, which was recorded in 2018, there was a segment regarding the 2016 election and Hillary Clinton's VP pick, which we now know was Tim Kaine. The recording starts off by one of Trump's guests stating: " They rigged it, Bernie would have beaten Hillary " to which another guest agreed because their wasn't the same level of public repudiation towards Bernie Sanders as there is towards Clinton. More can be heard, as another guest saying that " millenials were right there for Bernie ". Now in jumps Donald Trump to state that: " If Bernie would have been Vice President...

At a recent Bernie Sanders campaign rally in Iowa, Sanders surrogate Rashida Tlaib caused controversy when instead of quieting a crowd that was booing Hillary Clinton when she was mentioned by name, Tlaib instead stated: " No we're gonna boo, we're gonna boo. When we win the haters will shut up. " This angered the media class and voters that wouldn't have even supported Sanders in the first place. The 'Very Serious People' of online Democratic discourse slammed Tlaib, claiming that she was being divisive and harming Sanders chances in the upcoming primary. Some went a step further, claiming that Tlaib wasn't a true ally to women and their struggles if she was jabbing at Hillary Clinton, while others made videos screaming " f*ck Rashida Tlaib " into the camera for their Twitter bubble and others want her to be primaried and removed from Congress. Recent reports have been released, supposedly from people within the Warren campaign, claiming that during a 2018 private meeting over dinner between Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Sanders told Warren that a woman could not win the presidency in 2020. According to the releases, the two discussed their 2020 plans and both agreed that they both planned to enter the presidential race and Warren mentioned if she thought a female candidate could win the presidency, to which Bernie supposedly told Warren that a women wouldn't be able to win in 2020. Hours after initial news reporting on the subject Warren released a statement in which she stated that Sanders told her that a woman would not be able to win the presidency, leading to claims of sexism and news reports claiming that Sanders has always had a "gender problem". One of the main talking points used against Bernie Sanders and his supporters is that their lack of enthusiasm and support for Hillary Clinton in 2016 directly led to Donald Trump becoming president, with Sanders supporters being labelled as privileged and sexist for not backing Clinton, and yes that includes you misogynistic Jill Stein/Green Party voters! However, our favourite anti-Bernie Democratic loyalist, Sally Albright, now insists that it isn’t pivotal that you support the Democratic nominee in order to defeat Donald Trump, should Sanders win the 2020 Democratic nomination. For some reason unbeknownst to me, Twitter likes to continuously remind me that I follow Susan Sarandon, and because of this I unfortunately have to come across tweets like the one pictured above which includes a ridiculous criticism that people like this like to use anytime President Trump does anything terrible - which is pretty often.  If you haven’t heard, women’s reproductive rights are quite literally under attack in several US states, including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Ohio and women are being faced with jail time. HB 481 in Georgia would reportedly allow for women to be given a jail sentence of 10-30 years if she is found to be culpable of miscarrying through her own conduct (although this is extremely vague). Snopes have written an excellent  piece  about HB 481 and have given a “Unproven” rating for the claim that abortion will result in jail sentences for women. During the November midterm elections Bernie Sanders' Vermont Senate seat was up for grabs and he had to fend off more challengers than usual this time around as two extremely anti-Bernie Hillary Clinton supporters wanted to put a "REAL Democrat" in the Senate but instead they failed miserably. The first of the candidates is Jon Svitavsky , an activist for the homeless population of Vermont. While this may make Jon a somewhat attractive candidate, further research shows some rather troubling statements from Svitavsky. The Democrat has labelled notable black politicians Ben Carson and Condoleeza Rice as "Oreo's" - meaning black on the outside and white on the inside. Perhaps more troubling is the fact that he states that Rice should be "hung from the neck until she dies". Hillary Clinton supporters have a new theory as to who put Donald Trump in the White House: Hillary Clinton herself. These are the very same people that have spent the last two years blaming Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, Russia, sexism, and non-voters for their loss but have now flipped and claim that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats knew what they were doing all along and that purposefully losing the 2016 election was a part of an extravagant scheme. Hillary Clinton's most ardent supporters really are incredible, any political objection to Hillary is a result your deeply held misogyny, she was apparently "entitled" to each and every vote from those who described themselves as anything else but a Trump supporter, any legitimate criticism of her or her politics is the result of "Russian disinformation campaigns" and now Hillary is apparently of the same moral standing as notable religious figures. Polls that were undertaken by polling organisation Gallup have produced some rather worrying signs for both major political parties in America and good news for smaller, lesser known parties. The polls, which were published in January 2018, show that the number of Americans who indentify as Independents has seen its largest ever increase a year out of a presidential election. As you can see pictured above, the number of Independents has been increasing sharply since Gallup's recording began pre-1989, and very rarely dipping below the numbers of Democrats or Republicans. Gallup also mentions how decreases in Independents is usually a result of people choosing to back the candidate with either a (D) or (R) next to their name as they vote for someone that resembles their ideas as closely as possible. Bernie Sanders often deals with objections to his presidential aspirations from all sides of the political spectrum, those on the Right who believe Sanders wants to turn America into some kind of Communist dictatorship, Centrist Democrats who label Bernie as racist, sexist and unable to win a general election, with people from the Left who suggest that he isn't progressive enough. However, one particular critique of Sanders is both extremely exaggerated and in some cases, a flat out lie. Self appointed Hillary Clinton and People of Colour defender Candice Aiston took a short break from likening Hillary Clinton to Jesus and claiming that Democrats were literally 'entitled' to the votes of minority groups in order to write a truly awful  article   suggesting that Bernie Sanders supporters essentially target aforementioned minority groups who do not share their politics and dig up old tweets which could be seen as controversial in order to "silence women and POC". Ever since Oprah Winfrey's moving speech at the Golden Globe Awards last week, Centrist Democrats have been raving about the possibility that the actress and talk show host challenges Donald Trump for the Presidency in 2020. However, one of the main criticisms that has been levied against Trump is that he's simply a billionaire with absolutely no governmental experience who got elected by pretending to be Christian and being the supposed  'teller of hard truths'. Should you decide to torture yourself and delve into political social media, you will be met with two warring liberal factions - Loyal Democrats and Progressives. Much of the debate between the two factions surrounds Bernie Sanders, with 8% of registered Democrats claiming to actively dislike the Vermont Senator. A twitter user, which Progressive Political News is now blocked by, recently made the assumption that a vast number of white nationalists support Bernie Sanders and that he is somehow accepting of their support in order to further his political ambitions of seemingly turning America into a Soviet-style socialist state - or just giving people health care in order to live, but you know, who needs political nuance in this day and age. Political Twitter is made up of several factions that spend most of each and every day screaming at each other about why they're right, most of the time without a single policy mentioned. Centrist Twitter is a terrifying place, among their tweets bashing anyone who dare take a step towards the left or comparing Hillary Clinton to God - yes, literally - their political ignorance often slips through the cracks. A '#StillWithHer' Twitter account by the name of Jay Robertson, most likely a fake account, recently let his ignorance show when he admitted that rather than allowing the Democratic Party to embrace Bernie Sanders style progressivism, Jay would be more willing to live under Republican rule until at least 2024, the same exact political party and ideology he claims to be against. To put it kindly, Sally Albright is a bigoted woman who spouts nothing but false, derogatory rhetoric towards anyone who dares to support an actual progressive politician. Having the unfortunate task of scrolling through the social media posts in which she will automatically label you a "BernieBro" or a "terrible person" for having the audacity to agree with the policy positions of people like Bernie Sanders, Nina Turner or Tulsi Gabbard, has been a literal nightmare. Sally uses her standing on social media to spread propaganda about people and politicians who have the audacity to move leftwards on the political spectrum and has a history of continually being found out, but still proceeds to use falsehoods against anyone who disagrees with her, often using terms like "Berners" or "BernieBro's" and once again twisting this as negative to smear anyone and everyone on the left.
