With all the noise made about Nancy Pelosi being a resistance hero who is supposedly out maneuvering Donald Trump at every turn, it turns out that the Democratic Party leader isn't actually that well liked by Americans. The "Patron Saint of Shade", a nickname given to Pelosi by her most devoted followers, has an extremely loyal following within the Democratic Party, so much so that people like Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos embarrassingly hand delivered a thousand red roses to Nancy Pelosi's office. However, for all the sycophantic devotion to Pelosi that keeps her in power, Americans as a whole are extremely unsatisfied with Nancy Pelosi and her performance when it comes to opposing President Trump. According to the RCP polling averages , Joe Biden still maintains a five point polling lead over incumbent President Donald Trump. However, since this time last year, Joe Biden's polling advantage is slowly crumbling and we're still six months away from the election. Biden, before the primary even started, was seen by many within the Democratic Party to be the best bet to defeat Donald Trump and continue the Obama legacy, once again going with the same strategy that lost them the election in 2016. A few polls were conducted over the last couple of years, asking people whether they would vote for Joe Biden or Donald Trump and the results were very favourable for Biden, routinely coming out fourteen points ahead, with a high of eighteen points ahead of Donald Trump in a hypothetical matchup. Andy Ngo, a "journalist" who always manages to be on the scene any time anti-fascist activists are supposedly attacking people or property has been caught red handed lying and spreading misinformation to fit his narrative once again and he is seen by many on the right as the one-stop shop for all your anti-Antifa needs. This past week, Ngo attended a Patriot Prayer rally in Portland, which also included groups such as "American Guard" - American Guard members have attended Klu Klux Klan cross burnings and rallies - and Antifa and other counter protesters, in the hope he would find something that he could twist into his notorious "Antifa are the real bad guys" narrative. Marshae Jones, alleged to have "sparked the altercation" which led to the shooting, has been charged with manslaughter while the shooter has been freed. When women took to the streets in order to protest new draconian abortion laws proposed by several US states, notable conservative pundits insisted that the new laws weren't as bad as many women had feared and that they were just doing their moral duty to protect unborn children, but it’s doubtful Marshae Jones feels the same way. Jones was five months pregnant when she was shot in the stomach during an altercation with another woman and her fetus never survived the shooting. A lot can be said about the current President of the United States, Donald Trump and his basic understanding of science and scientific consensus on dividing issues such as climate change and the supposed adverse effects of vaccinations. Whether you believe Donald Trump managed to elevate himself into the Oval Office using Russian hacking efforts - which is actually the making of awful internet memes to 'sway' voters - and evading the eyes of the numerous American intelligence agencies and managed to remain in office for nearly half of his first term or not, why on earth would you vote to give an "illegitimate president" an increased military budget? Polls that were undertaken by polling organisation Gallup have produced some rather worrying signs for both major political parties in America and good news for smaller, lesser known parties. The polls, which were published in January 2018, show that the number of Americans who indentify as Independents has seen its largest ever increase a year out of a presidential election. As you can see pictured above, the number of Independents has been increasing sharply since Gallup's recording began pre-1989, and very rarely dipping below the numbers of Democrats or Republicans. Gallup also mentions how decreases in Independents is usually a result of people choosing to back the candidate with either a (D) or (R) next to their name as they vote for someone that resembles their ideas as closely as possible. Bernie Sanders often deals with objections to his presidential aspirations from all sides of the political spectrum, those on the Right who believe Sanders wants to turn America into some kind of Communist dictatorship, Centrist Democrats who label Bernie as racist, sexist and unable to win a general election, with people from the Left who suggest that he isn't progressive enough. However, one particular critique of Sanders is both extremely exaggerated and in some cases, a flat out lie. National Public Radio reporter Tim Mak recently discovered one of what is two dating websites solely aimed at Donald Trump supporters, with a catch - NO gays allowed. Thankfully, Roy Moore is now a defeated Alabama Senate candidate as opposed to being the man heading to represent Alabama in Washington and this is mainly due to several women who came forward to claim that Moore had made advances to them while they were under the age of consent, with Moore being in his early thirties. Marco Rubio happens to be one of the more slimier, corporate Republicans, this is even after Trump fooled his voters with his "Drain The Swamp" falsehood. Several women made headlines in recent days as they accused far-right, suspended Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama, Roy Moore, of engaging in unwanted sexual activities with them when they were aged 14 and upwards, when Moore was aged 32-34. As Moore hopes to become a Senator from Alabama, these allegations are seen to have come at, what some Republicans and their supporters see, is a rather opportune time as an attempt to prevent Moore from reaching the Senate. Donald Trump recently uploaded what might be his most popular tweet , a tweet depicting the time he featured on WWE attacking Mr McMahon - but with a twist. An image of CNN's logo was photo shopped onto the face of Mr McMahon, making it look like Trump was physically attacking the news organisation. Witty. It has since surfaced however, that this clip was not created by Trump himself but by a Reddit user who has a history of white supremacist and misogynistic posts on the site.
