Firstly, it must be said that some of the tweets from left-wing accounts Candice uses to back up her stance are extremely worrying, whether they happen to be in jest or not. Two tweets stick out, one suggesting that the "RIP Candice Aiston" Twitter Trend could be relating to her death and another calling Candice a "fucking white supremacist" - no matter how much you disagree with someone, these Tweets are appalling and don't help getting people to join your side.
Now comes the hypocrisy. A popular talking point from Candice and fellow Centrist Democrats is that any response from a Bernie Sanders supporter, whether it's abusive or a general disagreement, is to simply suggest that this is targeted abuse as large numbers of left-wingers aim to silence "women and POC", women and POC that Candice likes to use as a shield in order to wiggle out of a substantive debate on the tweets she puts out, in this article she even goes as far to say that she needs to "educate people" who dislike Hillary in favour of Bernie or Trump and their "abusive, misogynist and racist campaigns"and that Candice's wise words allowed them to see how evil Bernie Sanders truly is, I believe smug is the word to use here.
As for instances of "Bernie supporters harassing and group reporting" Candice and people who share her views, let me see her explain this:
'Cake Daddy' also dedicates most of his time dragging Bernie's name through the mud on Twitter and will scald anyone who steps too far to the Left, claiming that the 14% of Black people who voted for Bernie in 2016's Democratic Primaries are 'lazy, uneducated pitiful Black folks.' But it's the Left who are engaging in racial attacks, right?
Most of Candice's article is just repeating how Sanders supporters responding to Democrats is somehow racist and sexist, which makes complete sense. Put it this way, on my personal account, I once replied to someone called 'Bravenak' who was posting anti-Bernie sentiments as I saw that one of my followers had also replied to her. My response was this: "Hahahahahahaha. You're insane." That's it. Now we can argue about the use of the word insane here or about the fact that I was branded a "racist piece of shit" and was apparently "targeting her because she is a woman of colour", which wasn't the case, I simply disagreed with her political opinion, but that's racist nowadays.
The major gripe I have with Candice's article is the part where she labels "BernieBro's" as the aggressors. In her exchange with a user named @alexistired, which she uses to show how Bernie supporters apparently try to silence her, she ENTERS the conversation with Alex, who is initially replying to someone else, who suggests that Bernie's model resulted in the New Deal, to which another user replies "he was probably at the table that old crust", Alex responds and here enters Candice, clearly being targeted aren't you? The rest of their arguments is just arguing about who's white and who gets to defend people of colour.
Let's give Candice and Bernie's detractors the benefit of the doubt and say they're 100% correct, leftist BernieBro's are targeting them, using racism, misogyny and homophobia in order to silence the Democratic moderates, POC and women, because, you know, we're pure evil. Should you decide to simply scroll through any aforementioned person's Twitter account and read the Tweets and how they demonise anyone who didn't vote for Hillary Clinton, even going as far to suggest that online Bernie Sanders supporters are doing the bidding of a foreign power, that being Russia. Yet leftists are the instigators? They insult anyone who doesn't agree with them and then as soon as you respond it becomes "targeted harassment" all of a sudden, that's how this works.
Remember, it's the Bernie supporters who are harassing Democrats, apparently.
