Elizabeth Warren Goes After Bernie Sanders, Claims He Said A Woman Couldn't Win The Presidency

Recent reports have been released, supposedly from people within the Warren campaign, claiming that during a 2018 private meeting over dinner between Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Sanders told Warren that a woman could not win the presidency in 2020.

According to the releases, the two discussed their 2020 plans and both agreed that they both planned to enter the presidential race and Warren mentioned if she thought a female candidate could win the presidency, to which Bernie supposedly told Warren that a women wouldn't be able to win in 2020.

Hours after initial news reporting on the subject Warren released a statement in which she stated that Sanders told her that a woman would not be able to win the presidency, leading to claims of sexism and news reports claiming that Sanders has always had a "gender problem".

Sanders camp, specifically campaign manager Faiz Shakir, spoke to reporters, saying that this was a lie, Sanders did after all encourage Elizabeth Warren to run against Hillary Clinton in 2016 as he wished that there would be a strong progressive alternative in the race. Sanders also responded by saying that a woman could win the presidency because Hillary Clinton defeated Donald Trump by three millions votes.

Several questions arose after the release of these claims. Why would Sanders claim a woman could not win on one hand, but urge Warren to run in 2016 on the other hand? Why is there video evidence of Sanders saying that a woman could win several times other the past thirty years? Why would Sanders partake in campaign events for Hillary Clinton in 2016 if a woman couldn't win the presidency? Why was this released now and not at any other time in the race? Why was this released when Warren is slipping in the polls and Sanders has a very good chance to be the nominee?

Asked to further comment, Warren wouldn't go into detail and said she wanted to leave it behind and that Bernie was a good friend of hers, but she did claim that Sanders did indeed say that a woman wouldn't be able to win.

This claim was just brought up in the January 15th Democratic Debate, in which the CNN debate moderators framed the question in a despicable way: "Senator Sanders, why did you tell Elizabeth Warren that a woman could not win the presidency?" To which Sanders responded that he never said such a thing, further stating that he told Warren to run in 2016 and that Hillary was the popular vote winner at the last election.

The CNN debate moderators continued to insinuate that Sanders did indeed tell Warren that a woman could not win, not once did they say 'allegedly Sanders told Warren a woman couldn't win' just outright implying it even though Sanders twice said that he didn't say such a thing and has been saying that a woman could win for over the last thirty years.

Elizabeth Warren leaned hard into the claim, still insinuating that Sanders did say that a woman could not win but insisted that she didn't want to get drawn into arguments about it. The back and forth with the moderator went as such:

  • Moderator: "Bernie, did you say a woman couldn't win?"
  • Bernie: "No I didn't say that, I asked Warren to run in 2016 and Hillary won by three million votes."
  • Moderator: "Elizabeth Warren, what did you think when Bernie told you that he didn't think a woman could win?"
Sanders just laughed at the moderators assertion, along with crowd laughter, it seems that CNN, the network who broke the leaks and instantly asserted that they were true, Sanders has questions to answer and that he's always supposedly had a woman problem, and no matter what Sanders says, CNN and anti-Sanders supporters already made their mind up as soon as the leaks came out.

MSNBC Host Lawrence O'Donnell Explains How The Democratic Party Treats The Left

MSNBC's "The Last Word" host Lawrence O'Donnell describes his politics as a "practical European socialist", which essentially boils down to being a nordic-style social democrat, usually in favour of a mixed economy with a generous welfare state and has defended his positions on MSNBC news shows that typically frown upon stepping outside the neoliberal bubble. O'Donnell is no progressive hero in the context of american politics, sometimes scolding progressive politicians whenever they mildly criticize the Democratic Party, such as when Bernie Sanders tweeted about having to take on the Democratic establishment as well as Republicans, O'Donnell decided to concern troll Sanders by claiming that the Democratic establishment wouldn't pass Sanders' proposals if he wasn't nice to them. Over the course of the last few months an old video of O'Donnell explaining how to move the Democratic Party further left and how the party treats the p

MSNBC News Caught Faking Poll Numbers To Elevate Biden Above Bernie Sanders

If you were to believe recent polling figures in regards to the Democratic Primaries, Joe Biden is by far and away one of the most popular political figures in America, with his 2020 poll numbers giving him a 37 and 32 point lead over Bernie Sanders in the recent past. There has however been issues with some of the polls that have been undertaken and given Joe Biden his huge lead, such as the one pictured above, which shows Bernie leading Biden by 2% (27%-25%) among non-white voters, but you wouldn’t know that if you watched the MSNBC segment regarding the poll, in which Biden magically gains three percentage points in order to go ahead of Bernie in these demographics. Here’s another poll (CNN) that was used in order to show Sanders “plummeting support” and as you can see the poll includes zero respondents of anyone under the age of fifty. The problem being that Sanders base of support is largely made up of younger voters, so to not include any in a poll on Sanders is simply di

Why The Labour Party Lost The UK Election

Whichever way you approach the recent UK election, it would be fair to say that the Labour Party experienced a drubbing, resulting in a loss of 60 seats and handing the Conservative Party a large parliamentary majority. There has however been a fierce debate surrounding the reasons for Labour’s defeat, reasons ranging from Brexit, Jeremy Corbyn himself or supposedly racist voters. This debate has deeply spilt the two main factions of the Labour Party, between moderates and progressives. Blairites vs Corbynistas if you will. Moderates place the blame solely at the feet of Jeremy Corbyn, his supposed anti-semitism and poor electability. Progressives see this defeat as a result of a Brexit backlash with many Leave voters leaving the Labour Party while the Conservative Party had one core message: “Get Brexit Done” which seemingly resonated. It is fair to suggest that Corbyn’s popularity isn’t exactly soaring, with the mere mention of his name bringing about a whole range of different
